Prices: There is always a range of prices for any jewelry item. Never, ever have they seemed rushed or inattentive. I have spent over an hour of their time just looking. They will show me and let me handle jewelry they know I could not purchase because they know I appreciate quality workmanship.
Friendly, yes, openly cordial, genial and civil. Three or four of the staff are graduate gemologist (its real, look it up). A layaway program (thats how I managed to buy all that stuff). If you need help in the future with what you brought there, I believe they will still be there to help. The children and grandchildren of the original owner now run the shop. I recommend them for the following reasons: 1. I purchased over 100 pieces (no, not the expensive ones, used (estate) pieces) since the late 1990s. I have recommended Kubes for over a decade. I would recommend going to Kubes to anyone and I plan on going straight back to Chris at Kubes once it comes time for me to buy the wedding bands. For an unfamiliar process like buying a diamond ring, the level of trust I had with him was very comforting. One of the biggest thing I can say about Chris is that I trusted that what he was saying to me was truthful - there was no double speak. Chris was extremely communicative during the process of my ultimately having a custom ring made and I love my purchase (as does my fiance).
He never tried to up-sell me (in contrast to the other jeweler) and was very helpful by offering suggestions, searching for better choices of stones for me, and fully explaining to me my various options. Whereas when I was looking at settings/stones with the other jeweler he seemed to have his attention on any number of things beyond me, when I was working with Chris, his focus was solely on me and my needs. From the minute I started dealing with Chris, I preferred his service over the other jeweler. Thereafter, I went to Kubes to get a second opinion and to validate my pending choice of the first jeweler. I started my search at another jeweler and had an okay experience (I even found a really good ring there) but felt that, if I ended up buying from that jeweler, it was only because I liked the ring and not at all because of their service. From start to finish, I was extremely impressed with him. I recently bought an engagement ring from Kubes Jewelers and, while I do not normally write online reviews, felt that my experience working with Chris merits one.
